    Just another Monday

I should be cleaning house. I’m such a lazy Monday person.
    My Hubby is, too.
However, he is a full tilt weekend person.
We bought a new stove, new dishwasher and new cabinets on Friday night. Now Monday, I do have a new kitchen floor, but I have no cabinets, no sink, no stove/oven and no dishwasher.  (I told you, FULL tilt)
My water’s off and I have no ambition to turn it back on (and yes, I do know how). I have very few pajamas and gowns, so my morning fashion’s are scarce (think naked, tanks and shorts or sweats)
I chose not to go outside and turn the water back on, so that means no laundry, no shower, no whatever.  I don’t care…it’s Monday. And it’s raining.
Hubby’s old school. He never pays for any installations. Ever. That‘s just the way he is. He will just do it himself.
My Kitchen is a mess. But….Life is good.
Sunday was our 36th anniversary. We went to a restaurant called Texas de Brazil in Fort Worth. If you live in a big city where there is one, (or want to look it up), you’ll know that it’s a neat place. Great food, great salad bar….not so great on the wallet….
    $160.00 for 2.....
    Wow.
    But extremely tasty!
On a different note….Are you scared of the swine flu? I don’t know if I am or not. I trust God, but most of the people in my immediate family haven’t lived past the age of 59.  I’m 55.  So the flu is just a deterrent for me. I do fear for my grand children, though.
I got 2 of my male cats neutered in the last 2 weeks and one of them got out while Hubby was putting in the new floor. $150.00 down the drain (or out the floor, as it is).  I am pretty sure I will not get him back in. He’s a little odd. We didn’t bond.
Baby Annah’s in love with her tongue! She’s either licking something or saying “thbbbbbbaaalllllgggg”  with it. She’s 4 ½ months old and is huge! I don’t know what I will do when she’s 8 or 9 months old.
Grace (The Princess) is in San Antonio this weekend. SeaWorld is The Place to be, I guess.
Today is a rainy and gray day here in the middle of Texas.  We need the moisture, but it sure is depressing. I need sunshine. Believe it or not,  as much as I complain about the Texas summer, I can’t wait until it gets in the 90’s and 100’s.  I can get in the pool and just lay there for hours. Who knew?
About my old stove, I need to do a requiem for it. It was Hubby’s grandmother’s. His grandfather bought it brand new back in the ‘40’s and was a great looking stove. An old Wedge worth, that is huge! 4 burners and an 12X16 griddle in the middle. 46” wide. But all the knobs had twisted off and only one burner worked. No pilot light. I’m still going to miss it.
Now I have a 5 burner (ta da!) self cleaning one. I’ll be a cooking fool!!
If you’re not a face booker, you’re missing out. It’s the place to be evidently.
My oldest daughter has a website that I have listed on my face book page (Dana or TexasMammie)
www.giacoman.com and my youngest one is at www. Fourwhiddens. shutter fly.com (I think).
I am so blessed. I hope you are, too!!
    Xoxo

Ahhh....so nice to know I am not the onlyone without a kitchen!! I hope your re-do doesn't take as long as mine has. Congrats on the 36th anniversary! That is amazing. Your evening out sounds like it was wonderful and after 36 years, I'd say well worth the price tag.

    Hugs!

Congratulations on your anniversary and the wonderful night you had. I can't say as I blame your husband for installing everything himself, especially if he is able to do it correctly.

I have a face book account, but I don't even look at it more than once every six months. That and twitter hold no interest to me. I know it's the big rage, but I just don't think it's worth while.

Take care and I hope everything is continuing to go well.

36th anniversary. Wow. That's great. I've been married for 30 this year. Nothing to sneeze at, but you've got me beat, ha ha.

About forty years ago the very first house that I ever remodeled . . . . was my own. . . on weekends and evenings. Much like your husband. I had forgotten what an inconvenience that was for us because I completely redid the kitchen/breakfast area/laundry room, and both bathrooms. I'm surprised that I'm still married to that same lady I was married to then! LOL But, having been in the remodelling business over the years I reached the point where I no longer physically did the work. But I didn't hesitate to hire skilled tradesmen. (I can't believe you were still using that old Wedgeworth stove! How in the world did you manage?)

But, now, I'm much like yourself. My grandkids are pretty much my life now.

    Good Wednesday…

Hopefully you have all showered by now???
Good thing hubby is a do-it-yourselfer…Saves money! I think???
I’ve started counting my time as money so I weigh that in on how I want renovations done. Not to mention I can’t do what I once did. You are right…But with all that is going on it is all good.

Congratulations on your anniversary. That restaurant sounds wonderful. Sometimes one must pay for good quality restaurant food. Especially if you are a food snob like me. I don’t mind to pay for excellence. I guess it is the Anthony Bourdain in me.

I’m confessing no swine flu just spring fever. I think we should be concerned but not panic. From what I’ve read, watched, listened too…It really sounds no more dangerous than the common flu. Unfortunately, it was more serious around ground zero in Mexico City and my heart went out to the family in Texas who’s 23 month old child succumbed to the swine flu. Devastating.

What many of us don’t realize is that it is estimated that 36,000 deaths a year are attributed to various flu viruses. Yikes!

Maybe more people will start thinking about better hygene eh???

Thanks for visiting Blog Quest and always enjoy my visits to Texas. You all be well and peace, love, and happiness surround your whole family….Greg
