The Cat Place

Here I am…and all is well in Mammieland. I have been very busy lately. Nothing exciting mind you, just having some 'old lady' medical tests and workining overtime providing childcare. Sometimes even simultaneously! Test results are all semi A-OK so far. Not so sure about the kids. (lol)

I've also been physically "out-of-whack", too. My docs have taken me off of my thyroid meds and some other meds for the tests. For the past few weeks, it's like the Seven Dwarfs have been visiting. Sleepy and Grumpy have been here for awhile, and it's beginning to look like Sneezy will very well live with me most of the time.

**********Big Yay!**********

Hubby competed in his first Texas fiddling contest on 10/3/09 in Bowie, Tex. He came in 2nd and won  $150.00!! Yay! Go Hub-by, Go Hub-by, Go Hub.....pfft. Ya'll know what I mean.

That $150.00 he won will just about cover what I spent there waiting on his turn to play. Bowie is a tourist town (just like my little town) and it has something called, “Chicken and Bread Day” on October 3 every year. They close off a portion of a street (2 blocks!!) and set up booths full of "things" for tourists to peruse. Mostly jewelry and Pampered Pet stuff; but there is stuff that some folks would call almost antiques.

And yes, of course I can always find things that I "need"!

My daughter, Grace and Annah went with us and we had a good time. Lunch was in a little café set up in an antique store.

No photos to go along with this.  #%$&^%!@$@#$.

I will still work on it, though. We had a great time!

I think that for one (or more) of my blog entries, I will leave the soulful words of my cold kitties in the body of the text. Up until now I've erase them and carry on. Ya'll will never know the damage control that I provide. But ya'll may find it interesting, so I will rethink that in the future.

Summer may be officially over! The past week has been rainy and very cool. I’m now thinking of decorating in oranges, browns and leaves. Usually it’s still in the 90’s this time of yea, so this is a luxury.

Go pumpkins, go pump...OH SHUT UP!!! Ok, ....I guess only one "Go pumpkins" is enough!!

Gail, “g” of “The Great Atlantic Northeast” will possibly be introducing herself to me (and I to her) early next week! She’s coming to this area to see her baby bro and I plan on driving up to meet her in the first person. I'm a little excited to meet her and a whole lot intimidated! She's very cool and I'm not.

This is a very short entry and I’m sorry. Usually I ramble on and on, but at the moment I have to see to Hubby’s work clothes (he’s working out of town this week and doesn't know how to pack a suitcase...hhmmmrump!) and I am also being bombarded by some chilly kitties! My baby kitties have never experienced anything below 85! My lap is evidently the warmest place in the house.

But, to say the least….I’m back to blogging. Boring blogging, maybe…but I am back blogging!!!

Now to see if I can download the contest pictures. Or you can see them HERE

Happy Fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

xoxo

Fiddling Around

Drat! I upgraded something from Microsoft and now it’s just all messed up.

Ya know, once in awhile, I come to my site here and read some of the old entries and it brings back memories So today, I’m gonna talk about Fiddle Camp so I can remember it later on.

Right now, the reigning World Class Championship Fiddler is Wes Westmoreland. He and a former world champion, Randy Elmore (plus about 6 other teachers) hold six classes a year. You have to sign up for one at least 2 months ahead of time. Anyway, this one it was held in Cisco, Tex July 6-12.

Cisco's about 90 miles from here. The camp is expensive, but they put the students up in the dorms of a junior college and feed them 3 meals a day, so that‘s good.. Hubby enrolled and left on Monday, the 6th.

He had quite a bit of fun. There were students from as far away as Canada and Connecticut, California and Mexico. Thge camp also teaches guitar and vocals. Most of the teachers are/were former Texas Fiddle Champions or World Championship Fiddlers and guitarists. And they were amazing.

The age range of the students was 7 - 85.

Not all fiddling is about bluegrass, hoe downs or hillbilly music, ya know. The waltzes are beautiful. I’m not all that fond of Texas Swing, but I do like breakdowns and shuffles. “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band is a breakdown. I can’t think of any mainstream shuffle titles at the moment. An example of Texas Swing is "Miles and Miles of Texas". Bob Wills, I think, did that one. I could be wrong, though. It's happened before. George Strait's band, "Ace in the Hole" plays alot of Texas Swing. I can listen to that if he's singing. Yum.

Anyway, the camp was well worth the money.

Like I said, it was held in Cisco, Texas. Tiny little town, maybe 1500 people. The closest town was about 22 miles away. Hubby left home on Monday and I went there on Thursday. That night we went to a very small Mexican restaurant ( I think the word "shack" says it better) and we had THE BEST food. I haven’t had that kind of cheesy green enchilada goodness since we lived in Roswell, NM. I think the town had a grand total of 3 places to eat. And that includes Sonic and Dairy Queen.

I took Lola with me instead of boarding her. She was a good girl. On Sunday, after we got home, she had a "What the heck was that all about?" all over her face.

She’s a little bit aggressive, but she handled all the people very well.

Back in April when I booked the motel room, I made sure that they accepted pets. When I checked in, there was a sign at the desk that said, “Pets under 20 pounds accepted. A daily charge of $10.00 will be applied to your bill”.

I said, “Hmmmmm… I believe we have a problem“.

He looked out at Lola sitting in the passenger seat in my car and said, “Oh, my”. I don’t know how much he charged me for her, but 3 nights came to $240.00. For a town that has 2 motels, I thought that was a little expensive.

The Princess and Annah are back home. I missed them very much. They spent the week at South Padre Island, TX. Same week Hubby was at Fiddle Camp. I was very bored. I had lunch with my daughter’s aunt-in-law and we saw The Proposal.

BTW, that Sandra Bullock girl has a KILLER body.

OK, that’s all for now. I’m going to start posting shorter posts more often. That attention span thing, ya know?

Hey, for all you bloggers out there…start writing!! I’m a voyeur and need to see what your life is all about.

I’ll be looking for you!

xoxo

What a ramble

I opted out of the 4th's annual Parade. Too many people and it’s just too hot.

The Princess had to go to the doctor and she wasn't going to be in the parade, so what was the purpose?

Hubby will be gone all this week, he's off to fiddle camp. I’ll be going to visit later and dance the night(s) away.I n the mean time I’ll be all alone.

The Princess, her mom, and Annah are also be gone this week, too. The other grandma is supplying them with an all inclusive week in Padre Island! She's so generous!

I’m still trying to decide on a vacation for us - just Hubby and myself.….Is that selfish or what? What to do....Branson? The Bahamas? Vegas? Galveston?….What I really want is to take a cruise to Alaska. But I really have to justify that cost first.

Never been on a real vacation. We always go to Hubby’s parents. For 36 years, now. Hubby gets 3 weeks a year. One week is always spent with him working around the house. One week is spent going to the in-laws. The other one is usually wasted day by day. He doesn’t take a sick day.

well, heck....he never gets sick. He just sucks the health right out of me.

At his job, he gets 2 bonuses a year. One bonus is paid based on the number of sick days you have left. The other is based on the company’s success for the year. Since they make and sell electricity, it's going very well.

We watched Changeling last night. It’s about a missing boy; with Angelina Jolie. It’s  pretty good.  It does highlight how sexist people used to be. Used to be?

I love taking quizzes for FB. However, I wonder about the acuity when the quiz maker misspells a word or it’s grammatically incorrect. It’s still fun, though. But I also like Jeopardy, too. How nerdy.

What do y’all think about the economy? The State of the Union? Has it affected you? I know that now, when I go shopping that I won’t get out of the store for less than $100.00.  I may have to get a job. Oh, No!

We’ve already been to the in-laws this year, Hubby rewired their house back in April. Now we still have a week left to spend. Where can we go for around $2000.00?  Any ideas? And btw, what to do when we get there.

My daughter in Florida (mother of Magic Jack and Beautiful Kate) will start back to work next week. She took a year or so off after having Kate to be a mom. She is the perfect candidate for this position. They were looking for a part time dentist.  She will work 2 days a week. Her hubby is thinking about staying in the Navy. Only 8 years left. 4 years in Florida and the other 4 years at a place unnamed as of yet. He’s really not that old, maybe 36 or so, but he joined the Navy right out of high school and then rejoined while he was in college to get the scholarship.

Did I mention that....cough, cough....he's a doctor? ;)

Confession: I’m a terrible housekeeper. My home is a black hole. I’m going to blame my hyper functional thyroid. Yah, that’s the ticket.  I lay stuff down and then lay stuff on top of that. And then forget where I laid what where. And yeah, I do notice the pile. It's just not that important to me.

Have you seen the movie ~ Rat Race? I find it hysterical. I can watch it over and over again. One of my favorite movies is National Lampoon’s Vacation. If he wasn’t a Democrat, I’d love Chevy Chase.

Don’t you hate it when you go to say something and the wrong word comes out? You practiced it in your mind when you decided upon that phrase, but something goes awry and you end up sounding stupid. It doesn’t happen very often, but I’ve experienced it. Like when you want the remote. You tell your spouse, “Please hand me that garage”. Or you go into a restaurant, decide upon a chicken sandwhich and wind up ordering a "chicken situation". What the....???

Have you ever talked to someone, a stranger in a store? Did they just stare at you? Yesterday, I saw a sign that boasted 50% off a rack of denim jackets. I’ve been looking for one at a decent price and went, “Wow. That‘s a good deal” Only I said it instead of only thinking it. And the lady trying on the jacket just looked at me. She stared at me. Whatever happened to smiling and agreeing?

I’m waiting on a movie to be over. I’m sending Hubby to town (we live out in the country) to get some catfish. There’s a little restaurant that serves the best catfish at a very good price. I just had a nap and don’t want to get all dressed up to go into town.

My son-in-law thinks the phrase "going to town" is funny. He grew up inside the city limits, I'll bet. I grew up in the country and have lived outside city limits for most of my life. I’m not sure what the difference is. (Maybe 10 miles?) Except for the time we lived in Connecticut. We lived in a huge apartment building right in the center of Norwich, Ct. It was a great place. A renovated civil war ear cotton gin mill. We even had elevators! Being a hick, I was finally on par with the girls from One Day at a Time!

I stayed totally turned around there. I could find the mall in Norwalk, but other than that I needed a map. Hubby's cousin had stables and a riding school in Stonington. Right outside of Mystic. That was great fun. Hubby's cousin was Rich with a capital R. They were Load-ed.

Had a mansion on highway US 101 (along the Atlantic shore). Horses and dogs. The had jumpers. We got jumping lessons free for mucking out the stalls. It was so much fun! It was like being the Beverly HIllbillies.

Actually, Hubby and cousin were very close and we were treated like royaltry. BTW, I didn't have to muck out the stalls, I just made the kids do it. Lessons, you know?

Their dining room table had 16 chairs. Had a baby grand piano in the 'drawing room'. A fire place in the kitchen.

Yeah, I took notes.

Didn't see Julia Roberts, though.

Everybody thought I was from Texas and I wasn't at that time. Shopping for groceries was a little rough. I had my mom ship me in some chilis and stuff.

Funny thing there in Norwich; in a restaurant, you couldn’t buy a baked potato before 5:00 pm. How weird is that? And you always had to specify “iced” tea. And then you got THAT look. I understood that one. Who drinks an iced drink in the middle of winter? Well, I do. But it was a fun time and I love grinders.Although Maine had the best lobsters. Massachutes (can I spell that?) had the best fair. I loved the food so much!!! Souvlaki! Also something with fritos and chili...can't think of the name....I probably gained 5 pounds that week.

I didn’t find it all that cold there, in Connecticut. I think Kansas is the coldest place I’ve lived so far. Between below 0 temps and 30+ mph wind, I said “UNCLE” quite often.  Maybe that’s why Connecticut didn't seem too cold.

Well, maybe it’s time to shut up until I’m bored again. Tell me if I'm boring you.

All in all

It’s around midnight Monday,, so I must be awake. Good thing that  tomorrow I stay home. This insomnia is killing me. Yes, I know; it really can. It’s a vicious cycle.

Yesterday could have been a real bummer.

I got to my daughter’s house early…around 7:30 AM. When she went to leave, she put Annah’s car seat in my pickup.

She shouted, “Good bye! I left the keys in the seat!”

Then I realized that my cell phone needed recharging.

So I took the phone to the pickup to plug it in and sure enough,  the keys are sitting on the seat. Inside the locked pickup. A LOCKED pickup truck.

Good thing I had an extra set in my purse.

(Extra set of keys, you say? I’m just anal that way. Good hint…I tied a brightly colored bandana to my key ring so that I could easily find them inside my purse.)

Around 11:00 AM, I took The Princess and Annah to lunch. It’s a local place…it’s called “The Firehouse“. It’s a Fireman/Policeman/Biker/Old Person café type of place. It’s a hole in the wall in a strip mall. They have a blue plate special.  It’s very nearly in the tenement stage, but it’s got good food. They have daily specials and the blue plate special costs $6.79. For that you get rolls, a meat entrée and two sides. A piece of pie is $2.50.  I had a chicken fried steak  With mashed potatoes and spinach.  I love Tabasco pepper juice on my veggies. Yummo!

Annah got a hold on my spinach bowl and helped herself to a handful. I think she liked it, she didn’t want to give it up.

When we got back in the pick-up to go home, (amid all the comedy and drama) I wound up leaving the ‘diaper’ bag ( a very nice designer bag) sitting in the parking lot.

Am I old or what?

It wasn’t until about 12 minutes later that I realized it.

I'm really old, I guess.

That’s when The Princess learned a new word.

Thank you, Mammie!

So we go back and we canvas the strip mall (in the 104 degree weather) going store to store and finally find out that a “lady in a pink leopard shirt” has the bag and is looking for the owner.

Oh, excuse me, I mean “Loser”.

It’s then that I realize….my wallet is in that bag.

(!!)

My whole financial situation is now in jeopardy. I went and got some water for me and an Icee for Grace Then we went back to my daughter’s house to feed and change diapers for Annah, and then we drove to my house to check my phone messages.

Just in case the pink leopard lady called me. It was a good 45 minute trip.

I really did have to go home. My phone company’s system is moronic. It’s just all screwed up. I can only check my messages from my home phone. How screwed up is that? If I was at home, I would have answered!!

Well, maybe.

My phone company doesn’t know that one of the major selling points of having voicemail is to be able to check it from afar! Anyway, I  had to go through a total of 24 new messages and of course, that kind, polite lady was the last one ,

If you ever  want to talk to me, just call my cell, OK?

Finally, finally, finally! I found the lady who found the bag. She left a message. YAY! Life is back to normal!

All in all, it took me about 3 ½ hours to track it down.

Lordy, it’s hot here. And it’s only the middle of June.

I’ve only got a couple of months of the Disney channel left. I have (again) visited my old friends, iCarly, The Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana, Zack and Cody, Alex, Justin and Max from “The Wizards of Waverley Place“….and anyone else you might want . Some of them are old friends and some I’ve just met.

Just kill me, please.

(Although, I do love the mom’s hair on “Zack and Cody…The Suite Life”) .

I have to get a new bathing suit. My home is a black hole. Things and clothing disappear. However, since it is no longer bathing suit season, I can‘t find  one.. Guess I’m looking at a T-shirt and shorts.

My cell phone is broke. Bad cell phone! I had to cash in on the insurance on it.

Hubby has some major dental problems. He broke a tooth off a couple of months ago and it looks like it will cost a several thousand. Try working that in the budget! We’re going for a second opinion. And yes, we do have dental insurance. It only pays $1500.00 a year.

For an update…my sister, Chelle is doing well. She has a few immune deficits, but all in all, she’s doing good. She’s been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis.

Hubby’s on a fiddle buying streak. We’re up to 4 now. He’s looking for one for The Princess.

We spend most of our time in the Living Room. He practices there.

Some time he amazes me and some times I want to hurl myself against the wall. Some songs I like and some drive me nuts. This has been happening since 1982. He’s going to fiddle camp next month, so I’m hopeful some new stuff will find it’s way into his repertoire.

Would you rather have several million dollars than the love of a good person?

Or “20, 000,000 versus having your legs”

I’ll leave it on that note.
Xoxo

Title required

My insomnia is in charge again. However, I just found out why! After years of being diagnosed as being hypothyroid, I am now considered hyperthyroid. And I have a thyroid nodule that’s considered a “hot” spot.
When will they ever get it right?

So many tests taken and still more to do. The Princess said to me (just today!) “Why don’t you use the stables in Benbrook? (We’re thinking about getting in the horse business again and boarding them) All of your doctors are in Fort Worth”.

That’s a sad statement about my health. Although to look at me and live with me, you’d never know I have several  different doctors. But the symptoms of being hyperthyroid REALLY do explain a lot of things!

My next step is probably doing a “fine needle aspiration” of my thyroid with an endocrinologist. Yep, sticking a needle in my neck and sucking out the juice.  Been there done that.

Listen up…getting’ old is not for the squeamish.

I do take sleeping pills for the insomnia, but they’re beginning to fail me. Love the side effects of them, but they aren’t doing the job so much anymore. Like I said, hopefully they’ll get it figured out.

We had some wicked, wicked weather the other night. Wow. 3-5 inches nearly all at once. The rain started early Wednesday evening. Rain, hail, wind…the full monty. Hope 'g's brother fared alright.

Hubby’s shop is also the garage and I had to put the pickup in it during the middle of all this. His shop is not attached to the house. So, I had to walk about 300 yards all together. When the rain is coming at you sideways, umbrellas don’t mean a thing.

At it’s worst, over 500, 000 people in this area lost electricity. Even now as I type, about 120, 000 people still don’t have power.

Don’t you hate it when you click on a link to read something and what comes up is a full page of info that has no obvious way to quickly find what you wanted to read? And those 'Blogthings' quizes that want your cell phone number - drives me nuts.

For the last few weeks, I’ve been addicted to asparagus. I don’t know why. Couldn’t it be something cheaper, like zucchini? Or cabbage? I love cabbage. Boil it up with some fried bacon and chopped jalapeno - or Anaheim chilies? Mmmmm….good.

Okay -  So I love food in general. So much for that skinny, energetic hyperthyroid theory. Weight loss, house cleaning, all that….yeah, right.

I’m also hooked on the sitcom, “Reba” starring Reba McEntire. The actor that plays her son-in-law is hilarious. At least in my simple mind he is.

Hubby’s becoming addicted to eBay. He bought his 4th fiddle and his 2nd order of sheet music. He also bought a few other music related items. You’d never know to look at him that he plays beautiful music.

Well, just look at that picture! He is about as “hick-a-fied” as you can get. He laughs at fart jokes.  It’s an oxymoron.

The Princess wants to set up a summertime lemonade stand. I’m hoping she’ll do it on her parent’s shift. I hate sitting in the supra-heated sun. And at a buck a glass, I worry about that she won‘t have too many customers. She’s got a gimmick, though….she’s giving away handmade bookmarks with each glass.

The Princess is getting baptized this Sunday. And yes, she knows what she’s doing. She may only be 7, but she knows what Jesus did for her. And she knows that being baptized is only a show of obedience. It does nothing for eternal life.

So, as I’m sitting here, at 4:AM, watching a rerun of L&A Criminal Intent and I’ve lost track of the story line. I’m going to close out and go back to bed.

TTFN…
xoxo

2009/6/8

Just another Monday

There I was again, up at 2:00 AM in the morning. AND I had nothing interesting to do. Well, I could clean house, but I’m not going to do that, am I? I need to stay relaxed and bored so I can go to sleep again, right? I had a weird dream and that’s what woke me up. And It was a very disturbing dream. I dreamed I killed The Princess. I have no idea where that came from.

Anyway…a glass of wine later….

Television programming is getting really bad, isn’t it? There is nothing on TV anymore. Especially at 2 in the morning.  I gave up all my premium channels, so I wound up watching a DVR”d episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I don’t know why I love that show, I just do. I love the Foodnetwork.

I watched an episode of “Without A Trace” that was simulcast in Spanish. It was annoying. I felt like I was at the United Nations.

You know what? Take a look around your home. Look at it from a visitor’s standpoint. See what a mess you  have? It’s amazing what you’ll put up with. I recently took a fresh eye to the clutter in my house. What a mess! Wow. What we overlook due to habit. I’ve gotta have a garage sale. I hate having them. I haven’t had one in something like 20 years. So this should be a big one.

I have four baby kittens in the house. They are about 4 weeks old. Lola (my dog) likes ONE of them. And she spends all of her time trying to engage this one in play. They’re too young to have a real personality, so I don’t know what she ‘s seeing. Funny part is, this one’s my favorite one, too. Mysterious.

The other day, my daughter took the afternoon off.  So my daughter, The Princess, Annah and I went to lunch. Then we went shoppin’. What a scene. Target will never be the same. There I was, haulin’ around 2 buggies - one full of big purses and baby stuff and the other one full of clothes and cleaning supplies. Grace was singing and dancing around and she then dropped her cherry ICEE ( I don’t know how to spell that)  and then I spilled my iced tea all over the floor. Bless that fellow that cleaned up.

….I think we can go back, but I’m not sure.

Then we went and visited one of my daughter’s friends who’s pregnant and on bed rest in the hospital. 8 weeks to go. It’s a boy. Parker is his name.

We’re having some great weather. Pre-summer. Or should I say pre-miserable? It’s in the high 90’s and low 100’s with no humidity. Like 98 and dry. Love it! AND……I did talk my son-in-law into getting a pool!! And I didn’t have to pay for it!!!!! Summer will be great!

Disclaimer……..try these at your own risk.
At least it worked for me.:

Did you know……

If you forget (or have forgotten) to use your SPF over the years and on your hands and arms you have sun spots…..try Compound W on these. It’s a wart remover, but will remove those nasty sunspots, too. Takes about 2-3 days tops. Just apply and 24 or so  hours later, peel and remove. (my idea, so don’t sue them.)

Did you know that you can make a crack in your white china dishes vanish? Just boil it in whole milk. Then when it comes to a boil, simmer it for about 45 minutes.

Your compact broken? The powder cracked? Mix in some alcohol and then let it set. It’ll come back together.

You can seal a garden hose crack with chewing gum? Stretch the gum and wrap it around the hose. Let set overnight and it should be good to go.

Layer up a few small sheets of aluminum foil and cut through with  your scissors. It will sharpen them right up. About 3-4 layers are just right and just snip through until it feels right. I also heard you can cut through SOS pads and it’ll do the same thing.

Got a crack in a colored china dish or vase?  Rub a similarly colored crayon on the crack and run a blow dryer over it to seal it. Works wonders.

And best, but not least…..There’s no need to panic if you’ve dropped your cell phone in water. Take out the battery and the SIM card and gently dry them on paper towels. The put the phone in a bowl of DRY rice for 24 or so hours. If it  fell in salt water, then rinse first and then follow the same steps. Unless it was seriously damaged, it should be OK.

Thanks to Women’s World magazine for that.

Movin’ on….

My daughter’s church helps people in need and she’s the one in charge of “stuff“. Yesterday - Sunday, we went over to help a lady whose stove did not work. Hubby’s an electrician, so we figured he could fix it. Actually, I think he can fix anything. They do much bigger things than this, we were just there for this one.

Anyway, on Sunday, we went over and he fixed her stove and her dryer . Later, we’ll go back and  fix her ceiling  fan.  And I use that “we” collectively. As it turns out, I know her from somewhere. I’m glad I was nice to her back then.

I’m always nice to people. Mainly because it’s just right, but you never know when those burned bridges will come back to haunt you!

Don’t judge me, but I’ve been trying to get a concealed hand gun license for a while now. I’ve passed the hard part, but the fingerprint section keeps screwing me up. I’m gonna try for electronic fingerprinting now.  I’m afraid the FBI is going to think that I’m trying to put one over on them after so many tries.
I don’t believe that guns kill people. People do. Having a gun handy has helped me a couple of times. And no, I’ve never shot anyone. Nor have I shot AT anyone. I just want to be able to deter someone should the need arise or maybe just even out the odds.

And so on…

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays I go over to The Princess’s house (and since school is out) I get to watch her AND Annah. I get there at  8:30 AM and usually Grace is already eating a popsicle. She only gets three a day. I think she has all of them by 11:00 AM.

Last Tuesday, I told my daughter, Grace’s mom, that I would be taking both  Princesses  to The Olive Garden for lunch.

It was one day before my big dietary change. I have GOT to lose a few pounds!

Later that day, when we went shopping,  Annah and The Princess were in a very good mood. And  I cannot begin to relate to you how our conversations went. It was hilarious. Grace was singing, Annah was ‘yah, yay yah, yaying away at the top of her voice in tune to The Princess’s song. Annah is very vocal.

On the way over to Fort Worth, The Princess did her own rendition of “ Doo Waw Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Doo. You know…THERE SHE GOES, JUST WALKING DOWN THE STREET…SINGING DOO, WAW DIDDY, DIDDY DUM DIDDY DOO (Think Bruce Willis).Add in the song: “Found a Peanut, found a PEANUT just now”, and you get the laugh factor. She has got such an accent!  Everything has two syllables. She sounded like Granny from the Beverly Hillbillys!

You just can’t feel old when you are around a 7 month old and a 7 year old, can ya now?

Changing gears….

We are thinking about joining my daughter’s church. It seems to be a real live working church. In fact,  this church is almost too good to be true. But I’ve seen it in action and I hear about the healing every day. Hubby and I went yesterday and I heard the best sermon on Communion. Learned more than I've ever heard about the Passover AND the guy was hilarious!

Ok, enough about an average Monday for me. Hope your days are as full as mine.

Later….
xoxo

2009/6/3

It's all about the tune...

I love rolling thunder. It’s  late Tuesday night, reruns of Frasier are on and it’s going to rain soon. I wonder why rain soothes me. Usually, tornado watches and thunderstorm watches are scary. Maybe I’ve finally gotten used to them.

I’ve been going by spaces and have noticed that most of us are in the “laurel” stage. As in resting on ours…

Is blogging over? I hope not. I love reading about people’s lives. My blog has come to a stand still because right now, my life is boring. I like Facebook and I do check in regularly to read about others, but I’m wondering if I’m too old for that app. I don’t feel the need to “update” every 3-4 hours.
Just plain ol’ boring, I guess.

My son-in-law got a new bass boat, so he and Hubby went fishing on Sunday. I took a nap. Hubby caught a big one and threw it back. I’m finally rubbing off on him.

I was bored on Sunday. I felt guilty that I have recorded so many of my favorite shows and have yet still to watch them. I wanted to record a movie while I was at church and I have no more room on my DVR. I need to erase something. I can’t decide what to lose. Aack…so many decisions.

Hubby and I are thinking about changing churches. We’re still in the deciding stage. Our daughter’s church Stonewater, is so engaging and uplifting! And we do enjoy the services. The church we now go to, The Triple Cross Cowboy Church is geared more toward people who have avoided church most of their lives. We’re not like that, although that’s how I grew up. I never stepped foot in a church until I was 21.

My daughter's church went out, Memorial Day Weekend morning to a depressed section of town and cleaned up/mowed/weed ate and hauled away grass and trash from homes of more than 200 people. Over 600 volunteers showed up to help. My daughter was in charge of coordinating all of it and Hubby and I helped. Hot dogs, live music and a jump house helped entertain. A partnering church - Warriors for Christ, a prison/motorcycle church helped out. What a statement of love.

Summer is happening here in North Texas. Even as I speak, our pool is slowly filling up. Temps in the 100’s are mere days away. While I do love a good heat wave, I also hate the electric bills that come with it.

Extreme heat seems to help my allergies. I got some blood work done to see what my allergies look like. I’m allergic to cats, dogs and Bermuda grass. And ragweed. And a dozen other pollens. My IgA level (a test that determines how your body is responding to toxins) is over 2000. Normal is around 114 or 144. That’s what they told me. So bring on the heat.

I’ve been trying to talk The  Princess and Annah’s parents into getting a pool. I will be watching the girls  Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays this summer and since the economy won’t let me go shopping every day,  I need a diversion. My daughter has offered me $1.00 an hour this summer, so I told them I‘d pay for the pool. My son-in-law thinks it will kill the grass.

Nobody will know this if you don’t move the pool. Nit picker.

It used to be that in the morning, when I got to my daughter’s house to watch Annah or Grace, I would turn the TV to the news and other local TV programming. Now I watch old sitcoms. Cybil, Reba, Roseanne, The Golden Girls - all chick stuff. I am so sick of the news. I’ve turned into a praying Ostrich.

Hubby plays the fiddle. Have I ever mentioned this? This July, he’s going to fiddle camp. A world championship fiddler holds a 6 day camp for aspiring fiddlers.

Hubby’s whole family plays at least one stringed instrument. I have listened to so much music over the past 36 years that I am numb.

Once I get the melody in my head, it plays back ALL the time. Right now, we’re practicing the “Canadian Waltz.

Anyway….

The girls were in band during grade school and middle school.  Sarah on the clarinet, Lara on the French horn. Both were first chair and I learned to tune out the early stages.

Then (25 or so years ago), Hubby decided to learn the fiddle. All I can do is be supportive.  And keep time.

Ok, back to me…I bought a new blouse and sandals early last week and forgot all about ‘em when I was getting dressed for church. Does this mean I have Alzheimer’s or just have too many clothes? I don’t know, but I have GOT to go on a diet! It’s getting hard to hold it all in these days.

Wine is my downfall. I love the pinot grigio that Cavit puts out.. And of course I love that tropical smoothie from Sonic. (See the Multi-Orgasmic entry in April 2006 or 2007. Highlight and Scroll to read it.)

My knee is still healing. It pops and snaps but doesn’t hurt too much. I wouldn’t want to go running or kneeling, though. When I’m able to bend it like before, I’ll be happy. It’s still swollen and so is my foot. Actually my whole leg is swollen. And that makes it hard for buying shoes. Thank goodness it’s flip-flop
season.

Alrighty then, I’m going to bed. Y’all take care and have a good week.

Going down Memory Lane 1

There for a while, I thought I would just eliminate my blog site. I had no new material, no inspiration and no motive. However I’ve found that when I get bored, I go back and reread some of my entries. Aside from the fact that some of it was entertaining, I’ve restored some small memories that I lost over the past 3 years. So I decided that I should keep it up and running.

I don’t know if Alzheimer’s is genetic, but I’ve had a few people in my family suffer from some sort of dementia, so I’m going to need all the help I can get.

Do you find that the further computers come, the more problems they have? Maybe it’s just me.

I’ve put up new pictures of Jack and Kate. I don’t have new pictures of The Princess or Annah to show you. Their mother uses shutterfly.com, and for me to copy the pictures to transfer to spaces costs money. I just hate signing up for another app just to show you pics of my granddaughters. So my daughter has taken pity on me, she’s going to set me up herself. Just you wait.

Annah is still my day job. I watch her 3 days a week. I love it most of the time. I leave to go to my daughter’s house (I live outside of town and am way out of the way) at 6:45AM. That’s the part I don’t like. I am so not a morning person. Maybe not even a midday person!

I’ve been having a swallowing problem and so I went and got barium x-rays on Tuesday. I wound up spending
almost the whole day in the radiology dept. Somebody, whether it was my doctor or the radiology dept. or whoever, wanted to be present when they were being taken. And she took FOREVER to show up!!
If you’ve never had this particular x-ray before (or lately), just know that barium tastes like chalk, OLD chalk. And it’s nasty.

This procedure is cool in someways and horrible in others.

The x-ray is in real time. So it’s sort of like science fiction. You can see yourself on the fluoroscope ( is that word still relevant?) and can see all kind of movements. When you talk, your jaw moves. And when you move your head…well, it’s cool.

However….for them to watch how you swallow, you have to eat various foods bathed in the thick, evil barium.

It began with lemon pudding mixed with the barium mixture. Ok, yeah, I can do this.

Then swallow some sort of thick, evil barium liquid cr@p.

Eat some powdered, scrambled eggs mixed with a white sauce. Yep, barium cream cr@p.  Gettin' tough.

Swallow some more liquid cr@p.Not bad.

Now some link sausages coated in a consistency of horrendous, thick, evil, white, major CR@P.
I've cooked worse.

-The ultimate…½ sandwich (no crust thank you, Lord) filled with a concoction so vile that I begged for the barium liquid cr@p just to clear my throat!

"No more", I cried!

As it turns out, I have a unique swallowing pattern. The food and liquids go into my airway then bounce back out and go down the esophagus. Don’t know if there’s a cure. The radiologist told me that in her 36 year history of doing x-rays, she’d never seen this before.
I knew I was special!

I told you that one of my inside kitties had babies, right? And she’s so young! I never saw her go into heat. What a mess.

Now, one of my wild outside cats is looking pretty fat. If I could just catch them! In order to do that, I have to go outside, sit on the grass and wait. Sooner or later, the kittens will come and investigate and I can start petting them and get them tame. Eventually, I will be able to cart them off to the Humane Society.

I seem to have a “Welcome All Strays” sign on my house. My fault. I leave food out for my own cats and the wild ones show up and move into the shop. I feed them and water them, but they just don’t listen to me.

I refer to my (actually Hubby’s) garage/shed as a shop. There is all kind of stuff in there. He welds, builds things and generally putters around. I know it's the alternative to me. It's got many tools, antique furniture, various collections, family keepsakes; you name it.

During bad weather, we park the pick-up in there. It’s a tight fit.

We built it ourselves.

I do mean 'we'. It took about 2 weeks and of course he had to work for 10 of those 14 days. It's metal and wood. I got to learn how to weld when we were building it. And we poured the concrete floor.

I think the worst part was laying down the dirt to level out the floor. I hated that part. It’s hard work. You buy fill dirt by the yard. I was in charge of ordering dirt. I had no idea as to how much I needed. You buy fill dirt by the yard. Just how much is a 'yard'? I think I wound up calling them at least 6 times and bought around 6 yards. I just know that every day I was callin' them back telling them to bring more.

Of course the dirt was piled up in the middle of it all and we had to level it with shovels. I even rigged up our riding lawn mower with a railroad tie to help flatten it out. My sister and her son (who wants to be in the construction business) came out and helped. He loved it. He was about 10.

Next time, I’m gonna pay someone to do that.

Didn’t mean for this entry to be so long. And mundane. Guess I just needed to get those memories out there.

On a side note, first of all, let me say that I LOVE comedy. My Sirius radio is set to the Blue Collar Comedy Tour (I do have to overlook the language) and Comedy USA setting. I can’t listen to RAWDOG, it’s too graphic. And Jamie Foxx is way out of bounds. ‘Specially after the Miley thing.

Anyway…I love comedy. old timers like Jerry Clower, motivational speakers like Jeanne Roberson and Pat Hurley, and the rough ones like Ron White and Larry the Cable guy (overlooking it!). Just love Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall….

But I just don’t get Dane Cook. The hottest rising stand up comedian in Hollywood.

He just seems silly to me. Very goodlooking, too. Maybe he’s too much all over the place for me, but that’s so me. I’m all over the place, too. What am I missing? Am I just old?

FYI…some baby swings allow the baby to flip over and hang upside down. If you use one, please keep an eye on it and make sure that the babies are tightly secured. That happened to Annah yesterday and took 2 years off of my life. Don’t let this happen to you or your babies!

Ok, my insomnia period may have passed. It’ nearly 3:00AM and I need to get up at 6:00AM, so I will sign off for now.
Till next…
Xoxo

Wow...

I may not be a guy, but I can still relate~

Toilet snake attack: urban legend comes true?

  •

Mon May 11, 4:56 pm ET

TAIPEI (Reuters) – A Taiwanese man became a sitting target for a snake, which bit his penis as sat on the toilet at his rural home, local media reported on Monday.

"As soon as he sat down, he suddenly felt a knife-like pain and reacted instinctively by standing up," the China Times said. "When he looked down, he saw the big snake."

The 51-year-old man, from Nantou County, was under medical care with minor injuries, a director at Puli Christian Hospital said.

Wow.

On a Saturday~

I’ve been neglecting my blog family! Gotta get back to doing this.

There is nothing as good as a glass of ice cold water, early in the morning, during a mini-heat wave is there? I woke up at 3:45 am today, just dying of thirst. I am planning on going back to bed, sleeping in till about ?:00 if I can. I love being me!

Gosh, I love the lazy life. Although my house is a mess, but I do love being lazy!

The one thing I didn’t buy in my recent kitchen redo is a new refrigerator.  Mine works fine, but has a non-working ice maker. A few months ago I bought a counter top ice maker. I love it. No leaks, no filters on the hoses…it’s great. I have nearly everything a  21st century woman could want. Except a man-maid.

Have you seen that commercial, it's about some weight loss pill? Xenadrine or something? One of the paid participants ends up her testimony by holding her left hand up and states, "I'm gettin' married."
That is SO Texas. It's a "Look at me" thing. It's hilarious!

OK, I'm getting new countertops. so "Look at me"

Love it!

Grandbaby updates:

Grace…(The Princess) (in the FIRST grade) has decided to start practicing her cursive writing.  I didn’t learn that until….maybe 4th grade? And I sucked at it. I still do. She’s going to go far. Her lowest grade on her last report card was a 93. I know that First Grade is easy…but not to a regular 6-7 year old.

Jack….by the time I see him next, he will have no idea who I am. What a little man. I can’t wait until I meet him again. Boy, I miss him.

Kate….She is so cute. I can only hear her in the background for the time being, but again…I can’t wait. And yes, I miss her much, too.

Being away from Jack and Kate makes my heart ache.

Annah…She’s my day job. You do know that I don’t mean J-O-B, don’t you? She turns 6 months old next week and is growing like a weed. 18 ½  pounds.

I miss Jack and Kate so much. Now I hear that their dad may decide to make the Navy a retirement destination. What, 7/8 more years?  I’m torn between watching Annah and Grace, or flying out every few weeks to visit Jack and Kate.

My daughter has decided to practice dentistry in Georgia. A Florida license costs a fortune and Georgia validates a Virginia license. I was hoping they would be moving to Texas within the next year, but we’ll see.

Moving on…

On my Face Book page, I mentioned that I have 4 new kittens. I had a critter carrier in my living room awaiting disposition when the Mama decided to park her katookis in it, and she proceeded to have her babies in the carrier.  Lola checks in every few hours to make sure the Mama is doing it right.. Like she knows.

Speaking of Lola, she is one fat, lazy German Shepherd. She’s the Kirstie Alley of dogs. Beautiful, but too large. 95 pounds. (I know! Gotta get her on the South Bitch diet!  {OK, I couldn't resist!}) I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ve  never had a nosier dog. Whatever you’re doing, she’s right there with her big nose making sure you are doing it right.

It is now officially Tornado season in Texas. Hot, humid weather with a threat (or reality) of rain, thunder, lightning, hail and tornados every day. This will continue for a while. Up until mid June or until the weather gets to and stays in the 100s.

On the end note, today...This Saturday...May 9th...we're going to go buy some containers and (ta -da) actually de-clutter the house the way home organizers say you're supposed to do it. Amen.

De-cluttter, de-stress and dis-pose. I can only hope.

Tomorrow for me (Happy Mother's Day to all!!) includes a chinese restaurant. It's a good one, it's my son-in-law's favorite. I guess I'll be doing an "ok by him thing". I think we have a good relationship. i"m sorry that my other son-in-law doesn't know me this well.

Well, I guess I’ve wasted enough of a Saturday morning for you

…actually...well, not for me…there’s still a nap looming in my future!

Be nice, spay or neuter your animals and have a GREAT Mother’s Day!!
Xoxo

Just another Monday

I should be cleaning house. I’m such a lazy Monday person.
My Hubby is, too.
However, he is a full tilt weekend person.
We bought a new stove, new dishwasher and new cabinets on Friday night. Now Monday, I do have a new kitchen floor, but I have no cabinets, no sink, no stove/oven and no dishwasher.  (I told you, FULL tilt)
My water’s off and I have no ambition to turn it back on (and yes, I do know how). I have very few pajamas and gowns, so my morning fashion’s are scarce (think naked, tanks and shorts or sweats)
I chose not to go outside and turn the water back on, so that means no laundry, no shower, no whatever.  I don’t care…it’s Monday. And it’s raining.
Hubby’s old school. He never pays for any installations. Ever. That‘s just the way he is. He will just do it himself.
My Kitchen is a mess. But….Life is good.
Sunday was our 36th anniversary. We went to a restaurant called Texas de Brazil in Fort Worth. If you live in a big city where there is one, (or want to look it up), you’ll know that it’s a neat place. Great food, great salad bar….not so great on the wallet….
$160.00 for 2.....
Wow.
But extremely tasty!
On a different note….Are you scared of the swine flu? I don’t know if I am or not. I trust God, but most of the people in my immediate family haven’t lived past the age of 59.  I’m 55.  So the flu is just a deterrent for me. I do fear for my grand children, though.
I got 2 of my male cats neutered in the last 2 weeks and one of them got out while Hubby was putting in the new floor. $150.00 down the drain (or out the floor, as it is).  I am pretty sure I will not get him back in. He’s a little odd. We didn’t bond.
Baby Annah’s in love with her tongue! She’s either licking something or saying “thbbbbbbaaalllllgggg”  with it. She’s 4 ½ months old and is huge! I don’t know what I will do when she’s 8 or 9 months old.
Grace (The Princess) is in San Antonio this weekend. SeaWorld is The Place to be, I guess.
Today is a rainy and gray day here in the middle of Texas.  We need the moisture, but it sure is depressing. I need sunshine. Believe it or not,  as much as I complain about the Texas summer, I can’t wait until it gets in the 90’s and 100’s.  I can get in the pool and just lay there for hours. Who knew?
About my old stove, I need to do a requiem for it. It was Hubby’s grandmother’s. His grandfather bought it brand new back in the ‘40’s and was a great looking stove. An old Wedge worth, that is huge! 4 burners and an 12X16 griddle in the middle. 46” wide. But all the knobs had twisted off and only one burner worked. No pilot light. I’m still going to miss it.
Now I have a 5 burner (ta da!) self cleaning one. I’ll be a cooking fool!!
If you’re not a face booker, you’re missing out. It’s the place to be evidently.
My oldest daughter has a website that I have listed on my face book page (Dana or TexasMammie)
www.giacoman.com and my youngest one is at www. Fourwhiddens. shutter fly.com (I think).
I am so blessed. I hope you are, too!!

Even though I'm old....

                          This is great!!

2009/3/16

Monday mornings...

I hate Mondays. And I think Mondays hate me. They're not all bad, but once in a while, they gang up on me.

How was your weekend? Mine was great. I went shopping, found the perfect jeans and took naps. (While you're out and about, do you find things are getting more expensive?)

We went over to my daughter's Saturday night and our son-in-law cooked supper.

On Sunday, we went to the Triple Cross Cowboy Church.

Life is GOOD.

My other son-in-law is aboard a ship in the Persian Gulf. He should be home in June. YEA!! My daughter is working on getting their Texas licenses. She's a dentist and he's an anesth.....um, doctor.

Hubby is finally working in the area this week! He'll be home every night. Yea!! We celebrate our 36th next month. Mmmm....he's a hottie. You gotta be old to understand this.

Both of the grandkids in Florida, Jack and Kate, are sick. Hope my daughter doesn't get sick, too.

The Princess has the week off....spring break. Just you wait, Mom. She may be in the first grade now...but soon she'll be going to Padre Island.

You went to South Padre. Remember? You tried to get your navel pierced and it got infected (and you had to take the thing out?).

Yeah...just you wait.

Annah's probably sleeping. She turned 4 months old on Saturday. What a dimpley, beautiful gift.

Let's see....Lola is doing great. She's big. She weighs 91 pounds. I don't have to bend over to pet her. On Saturday, she found a kitten in the backyard and she pinned it down with her paw to sniff it. Then she let it go. Gotta tell ya, I was yelling and screaming at her 'cause I was afraid for that baby. Lola was just curious, that's all. I don't know how it got into my back yard, but I'll bet it won't be back.

My neighbor...Louise...she is the sweetest lady. She's a widow, in her 70's and she is as hot as a firecracker. A couple of months ago, she shot an armadillo in her back yard at about 2:00 in the morning. With a shotgun. Hubby and I woke up with a WTH? look on our faces.  Don't know how the varmint fared.

My trash service screwed up and didn't pick it up on the day they were supposed to. Something, maybe a raccoon, got into the trash and strewed it all about. And Miss Louise came over when I was gone and picked it all up! What a sweetheart.

The cats are good. I'm going to have to get a couple 'fixed'. Two of them. Rex and Tucker. They've never been out of the house before, so this should be fun. Can you say 'one big, spitting hissy fit'?

Zazu is doing OK. She's about 17. She's old enough to have earned the right to sleep wherever she wants to. Most days she can be found on the stove. I'm going to have to get her a heating pad.

Hubby's mom wants him to rewire her house. One of his talents is being an electrician. I guess we'll do that next month. And yes, I say "we". I help. I don't like it, but I feed the wire and pull the wire and am a general 'gopher'. I have no clue as to what I'm doing. It should be a 5 or 6 day job. Hard work, but we get to see family and friends while we're there.

Did I ever tell you that my niece (on my side of the family) works for Hubby's brother? Small world.

OK, enough about 'them'. Now it's all about ME. I joined Facebook and am still trying to figure it all out. THEN, I went and joined TWITTER! I am so technology challenged! I guess I feel that need to jump in while it still fairly new, so that I can figure it out. My brain hurts.

Well, that's the update for now. If you want to join me on Facebook or Twitter, look for Dana/Suzie Marchman or TexasMammie.

And yes, my real name is Dana. My nickname is Suzie.

Hi~

Finally got some new pictures up. Takes me forever to do that.

Today was just another boring day. Hubby's been working out of town all week. And has for the last 3 weeks and will probably be again next week. I can't wait until this project is over.

Hubby gets the new guy - always. He's had a few questionable ones, but this one's a doozy. He's mid 30's and has been working with Hubby about 3 months. My husband is a hard worker, works pretty much a 10 hour day and this guy mostly stands around doing nothing. He doesn't like physical labor (and there's not a whole lot of that) but he's got a smart mouth and is an all around jerk. He's recently laid off from General Motors and what he did there really doesn't qualify him for this job. But he tells Hubby that he doesn't 'do' physical labor....he's a craftsman.

Most of what they do is about schematics, blueprint reading and computer stuff. They do have to do some physical work and some is pretty hard. Yesterday, Hubby told him to go do something and the guy says, "You got tools, do it yourself".

What he doesn't know is that his probation time is about up and Hubby will be the first person they talk to. And nobody else in the group will work with him! I guess his economic stiuation is better than most people's.

My kids are getting older. My youngest wants to borrow some boots I have. Pretty soon we'll be sharing the same old, gray button-up sweater.

My son-in-law was supposed to be sent to Iraq a few weeks ago but since they are trying to get all the troops out, he was rescheduled to go to Afghanistan. However, he is now on a peace keeping mission in Somalia. Thank you, Lord! He'll be stationed on a ship, I guess and will go to the hospital everyday.

Well, I need to pay some bills and do some housework. Lola isn't liking that Hubby has been gone all week and is a little rambunctous.

Take care~

xoxo

p.s. Why don't they have a spell check on this thing??! Like I can spell Afghanistan!!

An essay~about me

I' ve been seeing all these silly things 'all about me', things and decided I would do one. My own questions.
It's all about me!
Are you ready?

1. Are you happy? YES, YES, YES, YES, Yes! Life is good.

2. Favorite meal? Hmmm...a few beef tacos, or a nice caprese salad. (Maybe that's an appetizer?) Chicken Kiev, yeah!

3. Favorite tv show? I love cooking shows, and I love Guy Fieri (Guy's Big Bite, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. On the Food Network) He's so into food!!

and Gordon Ramsay( Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen, Gordon's The F word).
He cusses like a sailor and still praises his victims. It' a love-hate relationship.

I also love mysteries, so there's CSI, CSI NY, I love Monk, Psych..(MaybeI can't spell that) It's on USA after Monk. NCIS, JAG and Medium. I have a very hard time deciding what channel to watch. Not to mention the premium stations!

4. Favorite sit-coms? 2 and 1/2men and My Name is Earl. I also record old showings of Frasier and 3rd Rock from the Sun. My dog thinks I'm funny when I laugh out loud.

5. My favorite store to shop at? Hmm...Target, Wal-Mart, Macy's and JCPenneys. (They have tank tops that I love!) Oh and don't forget 'Fredricks" (LOL)

6. Favorite food? Chicken Kiev. Anything Italian. Anything Mexican. Anything Greek. And don't forget pineapple.

7.Favorite aroma? For myself, it's either cucumber, vanilla or grapefruit. For the room, cinammon. In fresh air...mint.
I have a mint bush by my front door.

8. My favofrite person in the whole wide world? It is such a toss up, but  gotta  say Hubby. He is the greatest guy. Sexy, smart and sweet. He'll hold a sleeping child until his arms fall off. He'll work on your alternator ( fill in any car part here) 'till he gets it fixed.
You need cough syrup in the middled of the night? He'll go to the store even though he has to get up at 5AM the next morning.
He's a big guy, but he's as gentle as a lamb.

9. I love getting older. I have so much leeway! I can talk to strangers and not be considered dangerous. My mind is still good, so I still have a decent memory. I have an opinion and can discuss my widom with my younger family members. They don't question me!

10 Life is great. It's all a test. God wants to know what you're made of. You lose people and things and still you carry on. Love is hope eternal. We have greatness ahead us and it's in all of us!

Ok, for the rest of the regular people...

11. Time? 2:45 Tuesday

12. What did you do today? Bought groceries and had some blood taken.

13 What are you wearing? Jeans, T-shirt, bra, fip-flops, 2 rings and a smile.

14. What did I eat last? Queen olives, bagel crisps, baby bell cheese, artichokes.

15. What am I looking forward to? Tomorrow.

Hope all is well with you. Don't forget that life is tough. After all, nobody gets out alive. (stolen from someone)

Take care,
Dana

Things that make you go Hmmm.....

Do you listen to praise music? "Lord I lift Your name on high" "Lord I love to sing Your praises". Music like that?

I do. And it brings tears to my eyes. I don't do enough for the Lord. And I know it. I so fall short. I try, but I fall short. Gotta work on that. We all need the Lord.

The Princess spent the night with us last night. She is so funny. What a sense of humor!! She got into telling KNOCK-KNOCK jokes and got so sidetracked!! It turned into "knock-knock" "whose there?" "I forgot!" What a hoot!!

Yesterday, Hubby and I took Annah (the baby) to lunch and then went shopping. She is a chunk. She's 13 weeks old and weighs in at 15 pounds! She is such a smiley baby. Beautiful eyes and big dimples! If we thought The Princess (Grace) was a looker, wait for Annah!!

Hubby bought me a beautiful ring yesterday! Maybe a picture soon.

Chelle is still cancer free as far as anyone can tell (doctor included). She's having a few immune system problems, but nothing serious. Thank you God, AMEN!

Did I tell you that we bought a new vehicle last November? A big, black Ford pick-up. I don't know why. Hubby got the new car fever. (I think the guys at work all went on a binge.)
It's our first NEW car in over 20 years. I didn't even know we had credit until then! But Lordy, do I hate car payments!! It's so big that the bottom of the side windows are the same heights as my shoulders! I'm 5'7".

I'm trying to stay on my 'stomach bug' diet. I got a bug back in January and now am trying to ride it all the way to my normal size. I've got about 15# to go. I'm SO glad I didn't cull my closet!! I have all kinds of new clothes in there! It's like going shopping. I think I've lost about 25 pounds. (thank you to the bad knee)

The knee is doing ~OK~. I think I've got some adhesions in the muscles, so I'm working hard to bust them up. OK, maybe not so 'hard'....but I am trying to bend it past the 'safety zone'. Thank you Ibuprofen and Vicoden.

Alrighty then, go back to your home work and I'll visit another time!

xoxo

Just a short note, then continue on to the next entry~

For some unknown reason, some of my posts appear to be invisible.
I don't know why.
If you do the "highlight and scroll" thing, the entry will show up and live again. Not all of them are invinsible, but quite a few are.
My 101 entry is one of them.
Thank you for your time.
